Heavyweight Championship Lumberjack Match:
Heresy pinned Bubblegum to retain the title |
We kicked off the show with SIN in the ring.
International Heavyweight Champion Heresy announced
that Juice, Joseph Hayes and Johnny Phere would
be his lumberjacks for the evening. Bubble gum’s
music hit and he came out to announce his lumberjacks,
D Lyrium, Dirk Feelgood and Elroy Doogle. The
8 men stood face to face; with the battle lines
drawn the main event was set to be explosive.
Finally, it was time for the main event of the
evening and Bubble gum’s big title shot.
Neither man had an advantage in this match, as
both men’s allies could get involved whenever
their rival left the ring to ensure the match
stayed inside it.
With the fans willing him on Bubblegum gave
it everything he had to try an take the coveted
International Heavyweight title from Heresy, surviving
beatings not only from Heresy but from SIN on
the outside of the ring and then later a bible
shot to his cranium.
Heresy was able to do this because as many feared
the 2 sets of lumberjacks couldn’t co exist
for long and soon came to blows culminating in
referee JJ Swan having to send both lumberjack
teams to the back under his guidance.
Bubblegum recovered from this weapon shot however
and was able to bash Heresy with his own bible
but there was no referee! The 2 battled back and
forth with the crowd on the edge of its seat,
neither man showing any signs of weakness.
However in the closing moments, Heresy nailed
Bubblegum with a low blow and connected with the
Breaking Restraints (elevated reverse DDT) covered
Bubblegum and got the three count as the crowd
stood in total shock and what they had just witnessed.
Heresy had defeated Bubblegum albeit with some
last minute dirty tactics but nonetheless Bubblegum
had been defeated and the title would be staying
around Heresy’s waist.
