JC Thunder and El Ligero versus Project Ego in a non title match
With this being Thunder’s final match in GPW he had a lot to prove to his fans and he did indeed exceed expecations. Both teams knew each other well having trained together in Sheffield and the United States at the former WCW training facility and it showed in this encounter. Project Ego would eventually get the upper hand isolating Ligero from JC but some desperation moves from Ligero allowed him to tag in JC.One of the highlights of the match for your reviewer was when Ligero hit an awe inspiring Asai DDT on Kris Travis for a near fall. In the closing moments, JC hit his double arm DDT on Scotty Hexx and pinned him much to the joy of the many fans in attendance ending his GPW career on a high note. JC then thanked the fans for their support and left the Monaco Ballroom with his head held high.
