The hottest one night Jnr. Heavyweight tournament in Europe returns on
Friday 13th November!

Qualifications will start on the night but the announcement will also reveal a major change in the qualification procedure to this years tournament.
The CC8 has become synonymous with drama, entertainment, unpredictable outcomes and just great wrestling. You will only see this kind of tournament with GPW, now in its third year it has already become a highly regarded one night spectacle.

As well as this groundbreaking announcement, the night will of course be ram packed with action from start to finish. From scintillating 4-way CC8 qualifiers, first ever encounters, tag team titles matches and massive adrenaline pumping main events, plus much, much more!
Here's the full line up for On November 13th live from the Monaco Ballroom Garage Pro Wrestling are proud to bring you the 3rd annual Crazy Cruiser8 one night tournament!

The tournament has quickly gained a reputation as being the best one night tournament of its kind anywhere in Europe. The night itself will see 8 cruiserweights battle it out in singles competition through quarter finals, semi-finals and the all important main event final to see who will be crowned the 2009 CC8 champion!

Year after year the 8 prestigious places in the tournament finals are hotly contested for, with the eventual 8 all having qualified for the tournament in gruelling qualifying matches. This year however, entry into the tournament is a little different. Here's a quick look at how you can qualify:

1/ Auto - Top Seed
2/ Auto - Second Seed
3/ Auto - Third Seed
4/ Auto - Fan's Choice
5/ Auto - International Entrant
6/ Qualifyer - Winner of a 4-Way
7/ Qualifyer - Winner of a One on One
8/ Qualifyer - Winner of The Last Chance 10 Man Battle Royal

As you can see, the qualification process has been split up into two sections - automatic placings and contested qualified places. 3 of the 8 places will be competed for in 3 different types of qualifying matches, and the remaining 5 will be available for automatic qualification.

3 of those automatic spots have been determined by a special rankings league based on past GPW success. Points have been awarded for titles held/holding and how well individuals have done in the CC8 tournament in previous years.
The top 3 seeds in the league gain automatic qualification into the tournament. Thus allowing for the first time, both reigning CC8 Champion (Juice) and the previous champion (Bubblegum) to re-enter the tournament. The remaining automatic places will go to an International Entrant, and for the first time the fans will have their say as we give automatic qualification to The Fan's Choice.

Four places have already been filled at "Truth & Consequences". The top 3 seeds were announced as The Juice, Bubblegum and Joey Hayes (in that order). And we saw Ricky J. McKenzie win the 4-way qualifier to be added to the list. We will find out who will fill the remaining 4 places on October 16th at "Friday Night Thriller III".

Here's a look at the league we used to determine who the top 3 seeds are. .

With Luke and Miss Northwest in the house, it's almost easy to forget this great line up:

On the 1st of August GPW Ring Announcer was evicted from the BB house when the results of an 8 way eviction were announced. Luke received the lowest vote percentage of the series to date with only 37% wanting him to leave. Since then Luke has gone on to do several magazine and televised interviews with the press eager to know what he will do or say next. While we are at this moment unsure as to whether you will see Luke in a GPW ring again, we promise to keep you updated on what he gets up to.

News: Chris Echo Suffered a Fractured scafoid: broken wrist, during the GPW Crazy Cruiser 08
written by David Bridson

How long is it expected to keep you out of action?
Cast comes off on June 19th. They'll re-x-ray it to determine whether or not it needs more time to heal and if not I'll be undergoing physio to get full mobility back Echo’s Fighting to be Fit, Chris Echo may have injured his right wrist during the semi final of the Crazy Cruiser 08 against Jiggy Walker.

But fans can be assured that the popular grappler, who has a scafoid fracture, is doing all he can to make it back for GPW’s fifth anniversary show on July 4.
“I’ll be at the Monaco Ballroom for the fifth anniversary of the promotion that gave me my start in professional wrestling and there’s no way I’m sitting on the sidelines!” Echo told me.

The resistant Echo also hurt his wrist against Walker’s fellow Mil Anfield Connection member Danny Hope in the quarter final of the prestigious tournament. Doctors at Wigan Infirmary told Chris that 90% of people who suffer his injury make a full recovery.

“I went there the morning after the show to get my wrists checked out as I couldn’t move them at all! I had both x-rayed and the doctor said my left wrist was fine but I’d fractured my right and it was to be put in plaster.”
In the mean time, Chris has been having lots of rest. He’s also been drinking lots of milk after a good friend advised that it would help him recuperate.
The fan favourite didn’t even notice he’d hurt himself until he’d competed in the final against Juice.

“I’m not quite sure at what point in the match it happened but I think it was when I hit Jiggy with a springboard dropkick on the outside using the guardrail.
“I hit my hip pretty hard on the concrete so maybe focusing on that caused me not to notice!
“I remember realising I’d probably hurt my right wrist too between defeating Jiggy and heading out for the final, but it really didn’t hurt at all until after the final and I got backstage.”

It is the first time Echo has suffered a serious injury at an event.
“I like to think of it as just another bump or bruise, albeit a very nasty one, that all pro wrestlers get from time to time.
“Heresy gave me a black eye one time, but I’ve had nothing really serious on a show. I bruised the deep tissue in my right heel at training about a year ago and couldn’t walk for a month.”

Still, the Crazy Cruiser 08 was the first time his girlfriend saw him wrestle. His family reacted indifferently to the injury.
“My dad thinks I’m an idiot. My mum was worried but mum’s always are aren’t they! It really shook up my girlfriend though, it was the first time she’d seen me wrestle and I promised I’d be fine. Big mistake!”

Chris had a message for all his supporters.
“I’ve had a lot of support from my Echoholics. They know how dangerous it can be to step in to a ring and so when something like this happens they’re very supportive and let you know just how much they really care.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me, everyone who’s thrown words of encouragement my way. I really appreciate it!”
