At the March event, "Hold Tight", Heresy returned to GPW attacking GPW fan favourite Dirk Feelgood, he managed to do this via the art of disguise, a disguise which noone assumed he could ever take, that of a fun loving clown. With Dirk taken care of Heresy reunited with his stablemates,Team SIN (Joseph Hayes, Jonny Phere and Minx) who had been terrorising GPW in his absence and began to gloat. That was until the owner, Richard Noble came on the scene to announce that yes Heresy was of course back in GPW but also to remind him he had an obligation to defend his International Championship. Heresy refused stating that he felt the GPW lockerroom was inferior to him and he needed a worthy opponent. Noble decided the best way to pick a suitable opponent was for the GPW lockerroom to compete in a 30 Man Over the Top Royal Rumble Match with the winner becoming no1 contender. This match took place at Aprils " A Few Good Men".

Kodiak confronted DDL after DDL's match against veteran Keith Myatt at A Few Good Men, managing to gain the upper hand and connecting with his Grizzly Bomb (snail bomb off the top) leaving DDL laying. However later in the evening DDL returned to get his revenge on Kodiak chasing him out of the ring during the Rumble causing Kodiak to eliminate himself.

So it came to the big Royal Rumble Match. Lots of big names competed in the match including Dirk Feelgood, Bubblegum, Sabotage, Ruffneck, WKD, Elroy, Paddy D and SIN Members Jonny Phere, Joseph Hayes and even Minx who were hoping to ensure none of the GPW fan favourites won the match.

In the end it came down to Bubblegum and Joseph Hayes and despite the efforts of the champion himself Heresy, Bubblegum eliminated Joseph and won the match and became the new no1 contender to the International Championship.
