Breaking news : GPW CARPE DIEM RESULTS!!!
After a warm welcome from the ring announcer Sam Shaw in front of a sellout crowd at the Monaco Ballroom, it was time to see GPW once again seize the day, without further ado onto the opening match.

Martin Kirby def Cyanide in 6:38

New GPW superstar kicked off the show with an impressive performance against the monstrous Cyanide. This was a grudge match of sorts because at the last show Kirby defeated Cyanides partner in crime, Jack Toxic. In the early going, Kirby tried everything he could to knock the big man of his feet but it was not to be as Cyanide then took control with a little help from AAA Tasker and Jack Toxic. However, Kirby managed to overcome the odds and roll up Cyanide for the victory to keep his winning streak going.

Heresy def The Great Suzuki in 5:51

Heresy was back in action after opening the show last month with an win over Chris Echo but that doesn’t seem to have improved his mood at all as he battered Suzuki throughout the match with a succession of punches and slams. At one point Voodoo tried to help his new associate but Heresy responded by dropkicking Voodoo to the floor below. In the end, despite a good effort by Suzuki. Heresy’s new neckbreaker finisher was enough to put the young upstart away. Heresy was again victorious but this would not be the last we would see of him on this occasion.

Luke Marsden made an appearance, but Jiggy Walker interrupted to give him abuse. Danny Hope came out to make the save then challenged his former partner to a match. Jiggy teased accepting, but bailed. Hope chased, got a few shots in, then the entire locker-room prevented a continued brawl but Danny promised he would settle the score with his former ally at the next show, Living on the Edge, March 20th.

The Young Offenders def The Eastern Bloc (Jak & Kristov)
with a combo teenage kick/risk factor in 10:12

The Young Offenders took a light hearted approach to the match in the early going, embarrassing the Bloc with the dreaded rowing machine move and also Damon pushed Jack over who then fell over Joey Hayes who was behind Jack. The match soon got serious however when Joey made a mistake and the Bloc isolated Joey from Damon. The crowd rallied behind the new trophy holders giving Joey the strength to make the tag to DDL who hit the ring and cleaned house. Despite the Bloc’s best efforts this would not be there night as Egan fell victim to the Teenage Kick and the Risk Factor and the new champions kicked off their title reign in style.
Before the champs could celebrate however, out came Heresy with a mic in hand. Heresy said that he blamed DDL and Joey for his bad luck and vowed to drive them out of GPW saying he had found someone who be LIE ved in him. Who could this person be? Only time will tell.

The Juice def Si Valour in 4:02

After the interval it was time for the British title contract signing featuring the champion, Sam Bailey and the number 1 contender, the Juice. Before Juice could put pen to paper however, Si Valour hit the ring and challenged Juice to put his status on the line one more time against him. Juice agreed and the match was on. Valour came close to defeating the Juice on several occasions, hitting the Si of Relief and the Urinage but the distraction by Juice’s new trainers enabled Juice to get the win with an O’Connor roll. Juice then signed the contract; the match will take place on April 18th.

William Gaylord def Ricky J McKenzie in 9:32

In the penultimate match of the evening it was time for the debut of the top 2 graduates in the GPW training school who did not disappoint. William Gaylord was the cockier of the two men, who seemingly reveled in the dirty tactics he employed throughout the match. Ricky McKenzie was the high flier and the more charismatic of the trainees who won over the fans not long after the opening bell. Both men opened the bout with some textbook chain wrestling but their individuality soon shone through as William tried to keep the bout on the mat while Ricky used several aerial type moves for near falls. Gaylord triumphed in the end though, catching McKenzie off guard with a fisherman’s suplex trapping his shoulders to the mat for a three count.

Bubblegum def Dirk Feelgood
to retain the GPW title in a Falls Count Anywhere match in 27:45

Main event time next and what a main event it was. There was clearly no doubt how much these two men hated each other and it did not take long for the bout to spill out into the crowd where the two brawled among the fans. At one point Bubblegum even used the wall of the venue to his advantage as a springboard to attack his challenger. There were soon some worried faces in the Ballroom as Dirk and Bubblegum brawled on the balcony and tragedy almost struck when Bubblegum fell from the ledge! Displaying an unprecendented display of tenacity and sheer determination, this did not stop the champion who continued to fight with Dirk as the two found themselves back in the ring. Dirk and Bubblegum gave it everything they had, Dirk hitting a superplex on the champion but could not put him away. Dirks signature moves, the Rug Cutter and the Anasthetic could not stop the champion either, nor could Bubblegum put Dirk away with his Bubblestar press! As people wondered who would prevail in a match that no doubt many will take about for years to come, Bubblegum grabbed the chair that Dirk had attempted to use and after a series of brutal kicks to the temple, placed it across Dirk’s head before kicking Dirk one more time, with the chair in place for added impact. With his last ounce of strength Bubblegum pinned Dirk and the referee counted the 1, 2,3 and this tremendous war was over.

In the aftermath, AAA Tasker returned with The Juggernaught and declared war on the champion with actions rather then words as he suplexed Bubblegum from one side of the ring to the other. Before further damage could be done to the champion his good friend, El Ligero made a surprise appearance and cleared the ring of the Nigerian monster. Nevertheless the message has been sent, will Bubblegum give Juggernaught a shot at the GPW title? You shall have to attend the next show to find out as this and so many more questions will only be answered on March 20th. We hope to see you there!

Luke Marsden will return to the Monaco Ballroom
for the first time since coming out of the Big Brother house.

It was with us where Luke was first of all thrust into the public eye and cut his teeth as our ring announcer before he went onto entertain the nation as a contestant in last year's Big Brother. With Luke and Miss Northwest in the house, it's almost easy to forget this great line up:

British Title Contract Signing
Reigning GPW British Champion "Super" Sam Bailey

Who captured the title 2 months ago at "Christmas Crunch" after defeating The Eastern Bloc's Jac Domitrescu. On the same night Juice overcame 3 opponents in a 4-way to determine who would be Bailey's first challenger. After succesfully defending that right last month against Dylan Roberts in a singles match, Juice is now ready to put pen to paper for a date on this imminent match for the title. Don't miss this as two of our biggest rising stars come face to face over the title!

 Grudge Match
Martin Kirby vs. Cyanide w/ Jack Toxic

New arrival, Martin Kirby got his GPW career off to a winning start last month against Jack Toxic, but he hasn't seen the last of Lethal Dose just yet! Toxic's partner, Cyanide has issued another challenge to the newcomer this month. Kirby faired very well on his first outing, but it's a very different type of opponent this time round. How will Kirby fair against a bigger man? Can he make it 2 in 2 and overcome the big man Cyanide? Or can Cyanide get revenge for his teamates loss last month?

Danny Hope / Jiggy Walker in the building!!

Last month we saw the giants of the GPW tag team division implode in infatic fashion as Hope be-headed his former tag team partner with a sick Cat Walk Kick. Losing the titles they had carried since July 2007 was enough to tear the most successful tag team in GPW history apart. "Back With A Bang 2009" ended with the GPW faithful coming alive with chants of "Danny! Danny! Danny!" as the aggressive Walker wouldn't allow his partner to hand over the trophy to the Young Offenders, the crowd exploded when Hope finally struck Jiggy with his trademark superkick - The Cat Walk Kick and took his head off. Nothing has yet been signed, but these two will be in the building on Feb 20th, i'll leave you to come and see for yourself what happens!

Graduates Debut
William Gaylord vs. Ricky J. McKenzie

Who? These two are the latest graduates from the GPW training system. The same system that has produced names such as Joey Hayes, DDL, TJ Cain, Roxi, Jiggy Walker, Juice, Chris Echo, Danny Hope, Voodoo and most recently - Dylan Roberts and Juggernaut. The same system that has produced and exported more European talent than any other school in the UK. Gaylord and McKenzie will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, and GPW: "Carpe Diem" will be their first chance to sieze the day.
William Gaylord arrives in GPW with silver spoon firmly in his mouth. Boasting of a privileged upbringing in Kings Hill, Kent and a bank account to match, this latest graduate's strenghts lie in his strong technical ability. However, there are dark shades of rugged, stiff and unforgivng offence. Not afraid to stand toe to toe with his most accomplished of adversaries, he's also not afraid to get nasty and brawl when needs be.
His opponent, Ricky J. McKenzie could not be more of a polar opposite. Coming from a broken one parent home where he never knew is own mother he is the eldest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters and has fought all his life. With no parental guidance, it's been hard to stay on the straight and narrow and he eventually left school at 14 to look after his siblings full time. Years later, he has realised the dream that has kept his spirit alive and becomes a pro wrestler on Feb 20th. Suvival for the streetwise youngster isn't just a word - it's a way of life. McKenzie has all the tools to light up the Ballroom, innovation, energy and a burning passion to win. Don't miss your first look at these two latest graduates, I gaurantee you - you'll be hearing their names a lot in the future.
