Juice stated immediately that he would not start the match until ‘the Mexican’ got out of ‘his ring’. Juice was, of course, referring to Ligero, whose mask he ripped off at ‘Hot Gossip’, proudly wrestled in at ‘Hooked’ and ripped off again here at ‘Only The Strong Survive’ in the latter stages of the match. Juice did eventually start the match with D’Lyrium but may have wished he hadn’t after being punched ten times in the corner by the WKD member. Roxi showed no fear as she arm dragged him and Sam Bailey worked on the Commission Captain before both got tags to Ligero and Hope respectively. The Luchas began to dominate the match in various exchanges before Walker threw Bailey to the outside and all eight participants brawled in and out of the ring. Back in the ring, the Commission began to dominate when Adams got a near fall on Roxi following a suplex and after a fierce exchange involving several members of each team; D’Lyrium was eliminated following a Doomsday Device type manoeuvre from Juice and Walker. Excited at finding themselves one member to the good, the Commission only stood and watched while Roxi eliminated Kelly with a Ghonerea. Incensed by the elimination, the Commission made quick tags while working on grounding El Ligero and gained at least several near falls but it was Ligero who saw off team captain Juice with an Enzugiri to leave the Mil Anfield Connection facing three of Ligero’s Luchas. Unfortunately, three was soon to become two. An irate Juice ripped off Ligero’s mask, catching the high flyer unaware and making him easy pickings for a pinfall by Jiggy Walker. Quick to conceal his identity, Ligero covered his face with the ring outfit he wore to compete in the contest. Ever the opportunists, the Connection isolated Roxi from her partners, taking turns to take shots on her and taking out Bailey in the process. They then proceeded to dance while the WKD member lay prone in the ring. It seemed the pair had celebrated too soon when Roxi recovered to land a double DDT and ‘Super Sam’ was tagged in, but as the match degenerated when the Connection sought a double team move, Walker clocked Roxi with a Shining Wizard to eliminate her and leave Bailey facing two men. Never giving up, Bailey, spurred on by loud ‘Super Sam’ chants, hit Walker with shots to the chest and neck before slamming him with the Falcon Arrow to leave him and Hope battling it out. But just after he had nailed Hope with a bulldog variations and slam, Walker, who had not yet left the premises, distracted the referee and tossed Hope the infamous hubcap. Upon turning round to face Hope, Bailey’s face was greeted with the foreign object and he was soon locked in the Calvin Rekleiner. Despite holding on for some time considering what had just happened, Bailey tapped out and the Commission scored a controversial victory. | “I think it’s going to get to the point where we will face them and we will have the advantage. The luck played the biggest part in the match.” said D’Lyrium afterwards. |
